| By the looks of the arms on those guys you might tend to believe coal mining builds muscle. The Byrnes men look to be between 22 and 28 years of age so maybe the picture was taken between 1915 and 1925. Your guess is probably better than mine. Perhaps someone is familiar enough with clothes and styles of the time to know when those overalls were made. Maybe a railroad enthusiast could tell us when that rail car was constructed.
The most likely mine the men in the picture are working is the Allport Mine near Byrnesville and Barnesboro, Pennsylvania. The picture right is from:
